Burglar Steals Jewelry, Laptop on Madison

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Two Arrested For Battery

Jesus N. Hernandez, 19, of the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery at the police station at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, police reported.

Sean Eben Matlis, 35, of the zero block of Beacon Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the 600 block of Milburn Place, according to police. 

Eric Pierre Seaton, 23, of the 1900 block of North Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the 2100 block of Madison Street, according to police.

Burglar Steals Jewelry, Laptop On Madison

Someone entered a home in the 1300 block of Madison Street through the unlocked back door and stole several items between 8:45 a.m. and 12:43 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, according to police. The following items were reported missing: a grey and silver MacBook laptop with a 15-inch screen, a yellow metal ring, three yellow metal chains, yellow metal rings with opal stones and a yellow cross pendant.

Phone Stolen From Restaurant

A woman stole a Samsung phone in a red case that was left unattended in a restaurant in the 1900 block of Dempster Street between 3:57 and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, police reported.

Graffiti Found On Building

Police found graffiti on a building in the 700 block of Howard Street at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18.
