Woman Offers to Help, Steals CTA Card

The following information was reported by the Evanston Police Department on Friday, May 17. Where arrests or charges are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests: DUI, Battery

Brian Phillip Brown, 25, of the 9200 block of Lawler in Skokie, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in the 400 block of Barton, according to police.

Laura Lynn Haag, 31, of the 3900 block of West Lake Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 9:40 a.m. in the 2700 block of Eastwood, police reported.

Alejandro Aleman Zamora, 23, of the 800 block of Main Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, according to police.

A woman offered to show someone how to add money to a CTA card, helped load it with $15 and then took the card at the train station in the 1000 block of Central Street at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, according to police.

Thief Cuts Lock, Steals Jewelry

Someone cut the lock on a gym locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue and stole a Polar watch with a heartband, jewelry, cash, a wallet with its contents and an iPhone between 4:58 and 5:38 p.m. Thursday, May 16, according to police. 

Cell Phone Stolen at Hospital

Someone stole a Samsung cell phone with a pink case and a crack across the screen from a hospital in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue between 2 and 5:45 p.m. Monday, May 13, police reported. 

Car Roofs Dented on Asbury

The roofs of five different cars were dented in the 2500 block of Asbury Avenue between 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, and 7 a.m. Thursday, May 16, according to police.
