City Offers Free Beach Passes for Local Youth

The passes are being offered as part of the mayor's Safe Summer initiative.

From the City of Evanston:

As part of Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl’s Safe Summer initiative to promote safe and fun activities for Evanston teens, the City of Evanston has created 10-punch passes for free beach admittance. A pass is valid for entry to any of Evanston's five public swimming beaches through Labor Day; use is limited to the passholder.

Starting Thursday, June 16, Evanston youth age 13 to 18 years of age may pick up a pass at any of four locations. Passes will be available Monday through Friday, during each facility’s office hours, at the following locations:
Robert Crown Community Center, 1701 Main St.
Chandler-Newberger Community Center, 1028 Central St.
Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
The Loft at the Main Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.

Proof of Evanston residency is required, such as a school ID, library card or driver’s license. For facility office hours, please call 3-1-1 (847-448-4311).
