Eight Acts to Compete in "Evanston's Got Talent Showcase"

From the city of Evanston:

Evanston youth and young adults will show off their singing, dancing, acting and rapping talent in the "Evanston's Got Talent Showcase" on Saturday, August 13, at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. The show will begin at 6:00 p.m., but there will be games, give-aways and free food starting at 5:00 p.m.

Eight acts will perform for the judges and crowd; prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Free roller skating will take place in the gym from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (skates will be provided; no inline skates allowed). Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center is located at 1655 Foster St., Evanston. Admission is free for all activities. The showcase and roller skating are part of City of Evanston Mayor Elizabeth B. Tisdahl's Safe Summer Initiative. For more information, please call 847.448.8049.
