Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti Town Hall Meeting

The Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti and the Haitian Diaspora Federation cordially invite you to a Town Hall meeting with U.S. Department of State, Haiti Special Coordinator, Mr. Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Hogan, Senior Foreign Service Officer, USAID who will speak on the US government's strategy in Haiti and the rebuilding process.

As Judge Lionel Jean-Baptiste, former Evanston Alderman and former Chair of the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti states: "The Evanston, North Shore and the entire Chicago communities immediately mobilized and provided significant relief to the Haitian people in response to the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. Since that time, many have inquired as to how the recovery is going and how they may participate in the reconstruction process. We should all come together at this upcoming town hall meeting to get some answers to our burning questions from these high level representatives of the U.S government."

Members of the Host Committee for this event include, U.S. Representative Janice Schakowsky of the 10th Congressional District, State Senator Jeffrey M. Schoenberg, 9th District Illinois, Kwame Raoul, Illinois State Senator 13th District, Judge Lionel Jean-Baptiste, State Representative Robyn Gabel, 18th District Illinois, Commissioner Larry Suffredin, 13th District Cook County, Haitian American Community Association, Midwest Association of Haitian American Women (MAHAW), Groupe de Réfléction et d'Action pour une Haiti Nouvelle (GRAHN), DuSable Heritage Association, Haitian American Professional Network (HAPN).
