Nominations Sought for 2011 Mayor's Award for the Arts

Every year, one individual and one arts organization of Evanston are recognized for their contributions to the community through demonstration of excellence in the arts. Recipients are selected from nominations from the public at large. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, January 9, 2012.

The 2011 Awards will be presented at the Annual State of the City Address and Mayor’s Award for the Arts Luncheon, scheduled to be held in early 2012. Nomination forms are available online at www.cityofevanston.org/mayorsaward and at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., Evanston.

Last year’s recipients were Bill Campbell and the Evanston Children’s Choir. The Evanston Arts Council's Arts & Business Committee also presents an annual Leadership Award. Last year's recipient was First Bank & Trust. For more information, please call the City of Evanston's Cultural Arts Division at 847/448-8260.
