Evanston Public Meeting Set for Oct. 11 on Emerson Square Housing Development

A notice from the city of Evanston.

A public meeting on the Emerson Square Housing Development will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201. Emerson Square, which calls for the redevelopment of an underutilized industrial site, as first conceived under the West Evanston Master Plan, is the second component of the city's Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP2).

The development, as currently proposed, will create approximately 30 units of new, mixed-income housing. Emerson Square builds on ongoing efforts to stabilize the immediate neighborhood through the acquisition, rehabilitation and occupation of foreclosed and abandoned housing units. The purpose of the public meeting is to solicit feedback on the preliminary development plans.

Further information about the city's NSP2 project is available at www.cityofevanston.org/nsp2.
