German Exchange Cop Suits Up with Evanston Police

Hendrick Stahn, a 27-year-old from Germany, decided to travel to Evanston to fulfill part of his graduation requirement before policing the streets of Frankfurt.

The Evanston Police Department recently played host and welcomed a foreigner to its ranks.

Hendrick Stahn, a 27-year-old from Germany, decided to travel to Evanston to learn more about policing practices around the world in order to fulfill his internship requirement to become an officer in Germany.

Stahn, who had never traveled to the United States, hit the streets with Evanston police and after this week will return to Germany to finish his schooling and will be assigned to patrol an area around Frankfurt.

Comparing America to Germany,  Stahn said policing in the United States is much more specialized. Stahn said he enjoyed the experience and plans to graduate in four months.
