Go Green Saturday at Evanston's Recycling Fair

Residents will be allowed to recycle things that normally aren't picked up by city recycling.

The time has come to shred that old stack of papers and recycle your brick-like Nokia phone that hasen't been touched since the late 90s.

The city of Evanston is hosting a recycling fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the civic center (2100 Ridge Avenue) to help citizens reduce waste and learn more about going "green."

There will be on-site document destruction, electronics recycling, and residents can grab some recycling education materials, "sign-up for a waste audit, and get a close look at some of the Streets and Sanitation heavy equipment," according to the city website.
