The city has uncovered the Ackerman and Baker Park rinks and will begin putting down water on Tuesday.

Ice skaters, you're in luck. The city is working to bring local rinks back to life after the recent blizzard dumped mounds of snow on them.

According to an e-mail from Douglas J. Gaynor, the director of the parks, recreation and community services department, the city has uncovered the outdoor ice rinks at Ackerman and Baker Parks and will begin putting down water on Tuesday.

The Lagoon rink, however, will remain closed.

"We cannot physically get equipment to the Lagoon rink due to the high mounds of snow along the street adjacent to the park and the drive into the park," Gaynor said.
