Jesse White To Speak at Evanston Distracted Driving Summit

The summit will be held April 13 at ETHS.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has been invited to speak at an April 13 summit on distracted driving at Evanston Township High School.

The event will take place from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Room N112 in the school building.

A city press release said the summit "will highlight in-depth discussion and expert-led direction about distracted driving; driving simulators; how to minimize risk, distraction, and liability; why phones and driving don’t mix; and tips on how to PUT IT DOWN!"

The event is sponsored by the City of Evanston along with AAA Chicago, Active Transportation Alliance, Allstate Foundation, American Defensive Driving School, ETHS Safety Department, Evanston City Council, Evanston Police Department, FocusDriven, National Safety Council and Northwestern University's Traffic Safety School.
