Liquor Board to Discuss Keg's Revoked License Today

After the city of Evanston revoked the bar and restaurant's liquor license in January, the owner appealed the decision with the state. The matter was sent back to Evanston's Liquor Control Board for review.

Evanston's Liquor Control board is expected to again pick up the matter of the Keg's liquor license, , during a meeting on Monday.

The city took away the bar and restaurant's license in January, based on evidence that included 111 alcohol-related ordinance citations since 2005. A satirical Twitter account that was pretending to speak for owner Tom Migon and made light of underage drinking was also presented. That account was actually the work of a former Northwestern student.

Following the city's ruling, Migon appealed the matter to the state liquor commission. In May, the state commission sent the matter back to the city liquor commission for a second hearing.
