Mayors Against Illegal Guns Airs Super Bowl Ad

Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl is among the more than 850 mayors in support of keeping illegal guns out of dangerous hands.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns ran a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl, calling for lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns.

 joined Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and 22 other Illinois mayors last December to call for stronger gun control regulation after the Newtown tragedy, according to a City of Chicago news release. 

Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a coalition of more than 850 mayors that advocates for gun control laws. The coalition aims  to protect the rights of Americans to own guns, while fighting to keep criminals from possessing guns illegally, according to the Mayors Against Illegal Guns website.
