Mark Tendam - Tendam was elected to the city council in 2009 and says that he considers keeping the North Branch library open despite a round of funding cuts one of the major accomplishments of his first term. If re-elected, Tendam says he would focus on bringing more economic development and increasing programs for residents in their teens and early 20s.

Mark Sloane - The chief financial officer is making his second bid for election after he ran for sixth ward alderman in 2009. Sloane has critized the city's two most recently created tax-increment financing districts and says he would apply a rigorous, fact-based approach to bringing new business to Evanston.
