Q&A: State Rep. Robyn Gabel on Wind Energy
Gabel introduced the Lake Michigan Offshore Wind Energy Council Act in February.
State Rep. Robyn Gabel, who introduced the Lake Michigan Offshore Wind Energy Council Act in April, said the legislation will help pave the way for the process for the state to lease the lakebed for offshore wind development.
In an interview with Offshore Wind Wire, she also said possible challenges for the project may include "high cost for offshore wind development or problems related to its affect on wildlife, protected habitats, navigation, commercial fisheries or recreational uses of Lake Michigan."
