The Keg's Owner is Appealing His Loss of Liquor License

The Mayor revoked the license in January after repeated violations for underage drinking.

Tom Migon, who owns The Keg, is appealing the mayor's January decision to revoke his liquor license, according to an article in The Daily Northwestern.

The Illinois Liquor Control Commission will hear the appeal. The article said that Migon and his lawyer would only confirm the appeal, but not give further information.

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl decided to revoke the bar's liquor license Jan. 30 after a hearing a few days earlier on the issue.

Evidence presented against the bar included 111 alcohol-related ordinance citations since 2005. A satirical Twitter account that was pretending to speak for Migon and made light of underage drinking was also presented. That account was actually the work of a former Northwestern student.
