Thursday Evening Snow Update

What you need to know.

Reminder: District 65 and ETHS are both open tomorrow.

From the City of Evanston:

Snow Parking Restrictions:
Residents are reminded that a Snow Route Parking Ban will be in effect tonight, Thursday, February 3rd. Parking will be restricted on main thoroughfares from 11pm to 6am. 

In addition, a Snow Emergency has been extended to include the following days:
• Friday, February 4
• Saturday, February 5
• Sunday, February 6

Please note that Snow Emergency parking restrictions will be in effect from 8am to 6pm, on the days noted above, on residential side streets. Residents should not to park on the even side of the street on even dates; and should not park on the odd side of the street on odd dates.

Parking Garages:
Residents are reminded that in light of the recent snow storm, free parking is available at the City’s public garages Thursday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 6th to coincide with the declared Snow Emergency. Please note that vehicles must be removed from the garages by 10 pm on Sunday.

There are three public parking facilities in Evanston:
• Maple Garage
• Church St Garage
• Sherman Plaza Garage


Sidewalk Snow Removal:
Residents and businesses are reminded to clear snow and ice from the sidewalks adjacent to their respective properties as soon as possible. Elderly and disabled individuals in need of assistance with snow shoveling can contact the City for more information on the volunteer based Snow Shoveling Program.

Refuse and Recycling Collections:
The City is asking that residents and business owners make sure that their refuse containers, carts and dumpsters are cleared of all snow and that the area around them is cleared as well.
