NBA Star Isiah Thomas Buys Evanston Apartment Building

Hall-of-Famer and former Detroit Pistons basketball star Isiah Thomas recently purchased an apartment building in Evanston, according to a press release from his real estate company, Isiah International Holdings.

The building at 525 Kedzie was built in 2007 as a luxury condo building with 20 residential units, 42 parking spaces and two commercial spaces, according to the release. It's located at the intersection with Chicago Avenue, near the new AMLI Evanston apartments. 

Isiah International is a commercial real estate investment company based in Chicago, which focuses on multifamily housing units, the release said. The company is also committed to "revitalizing properties in distressed communities and developing affordable housing on the west side of Chicago."

“I am excited about this new business endeavor and look forward to being a part of the Evanston community which is so close to my hometown Chicago where I am deeply involved in the business and philanthropic community," Thomas said in the release.
