It's not surprising to see Roseland on the list. It has had to struggle with inadequate finances for decades. It may serve Advocate well to consider siphoning a little bit of the cash they spend expanding Christ from lot line to lot line and use it to purchase this struggling institution. Then upgrade it's emergency room, as well as it's in and outpatient facilities. This would alleviate some of the pressure on Christ's emergency room and shorten the the ambulance ride for those who need it the most. Granted that there are great benefits to the economies of scale at Christ. However, such concentrated investment of resources in our hospital system leaves many areas of the city under served and ignored.

Most hospitals are not "safe", As one Nurse mentioned to me a few years ago " try and stay healthy, you really DO NOT want to be in a hospital" " i should know I work there 40 - 50 hours a week! " I said " point well taken, thank you!"
