14 Edible Gardens Growing Throughout Evanston/Skokie District 65

The movement to bring vegetable gardens into school started about 11 years ago and is supported by Schools are Gardening in Evanston.

 

Did you know that 14 schools in Evanston/Skokie School District 65 have edible gardens growing vegetables? The movement started 11 years ago and is supported by a group called Schools are Gardening in Evanston or SAGE, Evanston Now reported. 

SAGE is a program of the Evanston Environmental Association, a volunteer group that partners with local schools and organization to provide garden meetings and supporters of the school gardens say children who used to dislike vegetables are now fascinated with them, Evanston Now reported.
