District 65 Schools Closed Monday Due to Extreme Cold

The school district announced that all District 65 schools and centers will shut down Monday as temperatures are predicted to plummet.

With forecasters predicting extremely low temperatures and dangerous wind chills this Monday, District 65 announced it is closing all of its schools and centers.

"This decision was made with the safety of our students and staff in mind," the district posted on its website. "Administrators will continue to monitor the weather and will make a decision by Monday afternoon regarding the status of school on Tuesday."

Parents and students can find out whether school is open on Tuesday via the District 65 website or the Chicago Emergency Closing Center.

Evanston's Chiaravalle Montessori School will also be closed on Monday.
