Do You Want to Serve on the District 65 School Board?

Nominating petitions are now available and can be filed between Dec. 17 and Dec. 24 for the April, 2013 election, four school board seats will be open.

Are you interested in becoming a member of the District 65 school board? If so, nominating petitions are now available for four open seats in the April 9, 2013 election. 

Forms can be picked up Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the office of the board secretary at 1500 McDaniel Ave., Evanston. 

Petitions must be filed between 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17 and 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

Eligibility requirements are that on the date of the election, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, 18-years-of-age or older, registered to vote and a resident of the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 at a minimum of a year from the date of the election. 

There is no political party affiliation requested due to the non-partisan nature of this election. Petitions are required to be signed by at least 50 registered voters in District 65. Nominating papers can be filed by an agent, in person or via U.S. post.

The names of candidates on the ballot will appear in the same order nominating petitions are received.  

There are a total of seven seats on the District 65 school board. All seats have four-year terms, and the four open spots terms will expire in April, 2017.
