Class ranking will be discontinued at Evanston Township High School immediately with the Class of 2014 after District 202 Board approved the decision with a 5-2 vote Monday, Evanston Now reported.
Scott Rochelle cast a dissenting vote on each motion, advocating to maintain the ranking for the top 10 percent of the class, but Superintendent Eric Witherspoon rejected the proposal saying it would send mixed signals to colleges, the newspaper reported.
