ETHS, District 65 Schools Closed Again Tuesday

Evanston Township High School and all District 65 schools and centers will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, according to school officials.

"This decision was made with the safety of our students and staff in mind," District 65 said in an e-mail to parents. "Please stay tuned to the district website at www.district65.net, local radio, and television stations; an update will also be sent via email and phone concerning the opening of schools and centers on Wednesday."

Before school activities are canceled at ETHS, but some after school sporting events may be held, according to the school website. 

"School officials will use the ETHS website and the automated voice message and email system to announce any closings or delays to parents/guardians and school staff. Additionally, local radio and television stations will make the announcement," the website said. "If an announcement is not issued the school will be open and operate on a normal school day schedule on Wednesday."
Both District 65 and Evanston Township High School were closed Monday, Jan. 6, when temperatures plummeted well below freezing.
