After interning with various chiropractors throughout high school, Scott received his B.A. in Kinesiology from Occidental College in Los Angeles. As a collegiate football player, he spent many hours in the gym and soon began designing the strength training programs for his college team. Looking to combine his personal training skills with greater understanding of the body, Scott attended Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Boulder, CO. At BMCT, Scott completed a 1000 hour massage certification that specialized in Shiatsu, Deep Tissue and Integrative Massage Therapy. He then went on to receive his National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. He is now focusing on Thai Massage where he has seen the greatest healing. He has completed over 100 hours of training from the Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Evanston. As a Personal Trainer, Scott emphasizes Functional Training and strives to train bodies to function at their optimal levels by increasing strength, coordination and balance. He is certified by ACE as a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Scott’s experiences have combined to give him extensive knowledge of the body along with the awareness of its ability to heal and restore function. Scott offers a unique massage style that blends modalities, experience and knowledge to heal the body. His massage work encourages the body to restore function, increase range of motion, decrease pain and stress and relax. Training functionally brings strength to all functional movements of the body: squatting, bending, lunging, stepping, pushing, pulling and core strength. Scott believes that a more functional body gives us strength, stamina, coordination, flexibility and balance which leads to a healthier body and mind. Massage and Personal Training are more than a job to Scott, they’re a blend of who is and how he presents himself. These skill sets and his approach to life encompass his core values in Zen, family and social contribution. This event is limited to 5 couples.
