ETHS PTSA Program to Address Social and Emotional Issues of Adolescence

Evanston, Ill.  (February 23, 2011) – Raising teenagers today isn’t easy.  Whether the issue is social media or substance abuse, it’s often hard for parents to know what’s normal and what’s not.  In an effort to give parents a better understanding of the social and emotional well-being of teens and resources available to help, the Evanston Township High School PTSA will present a program titled “Does My Teenager Need Help?  The Social and Emotional Health of High School Students” on Tuesday, March 8, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Terrace Room at ETHS.

All parents and guardians of ETHS students are invited to this free event, which will include ETHS head social worker Jeff Simon, along with representatives from Peer Services, Metropolitan Family Services, North Shore University Health System, and The Family Institute at Northwestern University.  In addition, members of the ETHS Technology Department will discuss Internet safety for teens.  The evening also will include question and answer sessions and small group discussions.
