Evanston SCORE Business Development Seminar Set for Nov. 10

Local business owners are invited to attend the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) Business Development Seminar presented by the City of Evanston and SCORE Evanston. The seminar will be held November 10th in the Council meeting room at the Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave in Evanston. The seminar will offer information and resources to help attendees further develop their business plans and perfect a marketing strategy. The seminar will begin at 6:30PM.

SCORE Evanston is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and has been mentoring small business owners for more than forty years.

Development of Your Business Plan
Learn the importance of well-conceived planning as you begin creating, organizing and writing your business plan. Workshop topics include setting goals and objectives, developing marketing and financial plans and defining action steps to achieve the best outcomes. Sample business plans and templates will be distributed and a Q&A segment will conclude the workshop.

Marketing and Selling: Targeting to Get Customers
A well-developed marketing strategy is essential to the success of any business. A good marketing strategy will help you set realistic goals and objectives for your organization. This workshop will cover effective utilization of product planning, pricing, promotion, sales and distribution to give you a competitive edge. There will be a Q&A segment led by a marketing executive to conclude this workshop.
