Greyhounds and Babies

"So, you're having a baby! Does your dog know?" After reviewing the statistics involving hounds that are returned to Greyhounds Only, Inc., we found that seven out of ten returned Greyhounds are due to negative baby/toddler/children interaction. We feel that preparing our new adoptive families, as well as existing GO families expecting a baby and their dog for the blessed event will give them tools and realistic goals to keep the entire family intact. The class will provide tools to prepare your hound for an infant.  We will address dog behaviors that will be difficult to manage with a baby and how to correct them, food/toy training, baby smells and noises, stroller confidence, leash behaviors, time management, etc.  The class will be led by SuzanMosley-Gaiser, a certified dog trainer, Greyhounds Only Board member, and Foster Coordinator for Greyhounds Only, with over nine years of Greyhound specific behavior experience.
