In his psychology, Jung emphasizes the importance of continued growth in the second half of life. In our culture, many elders have abandoned their traditional roles as initiators of young men and women. Without returning to tribal memory, what can we do as contemporary elders do to offer opportunities to those coming after in how to fly in the spirit? This workshop will explore that theme through the experiential activities of drumming, chanting, group dialogue, and an axis mundi ceremony demonstrating one way to create sacred space and celebrate the importance of the role of the Elder. Participants are asked to bring a photo of loved elder and a sacred object (both will be returned at the end of the workshop).
