Northwestern Athletics 'Ticket Tax' Exceeds Evanston Revenue Projections

Northwestern University football is helping to generate substantial revenue for the City of Evanston, the Daily Northwestern reports.

The City of Evanston adds an 11-percent tax onto the ticket price for Northwestern University football games, and that has generated more revenue than the city estimated, according to the Daily Northwestern. 

The article states that $1 million in revenue came in for fiscal year 2013, when the city had projected $760,000.
