Northwestern Ranked 23rd Best University in the World

American universities dominated the top of the list.

Northwestern University is the 23rd best institution of higher learning in the world, according to the Center for World University Rankings.

Harvard, Stanford and MIT took the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots, with Oxford and Cambridge being the only non-American schools to place in the top 10.

The list, put out by the Saudi Arabia-based organization, looked at eight criteria, including quality of education, alumni employment and the school’s influence, according to an article in Business Insider.

Besides Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom, two Japanese universities, one in Switzerland and one in Israel came in ahead of Northwestern. The rest are American schools.
