Northwestern Students 'Cage Match' for Charity

The Northwestern Student Cage Match: It's not what you think.

On April 1, a group of NU students will kick off a 30-hour, 16-movie marathon of Nicolas Cage classics. That's right, 30 straight hours of this guy.

"Nicolas Cage is truly incomparable to anyone else in Hollywood. Normal adjectives can’t describe him. In every role he plays, the character may vary, but his core humanity stays the same," reads a statement on a website the students created for the event.

"His roles are so varied, amongst so many genres, perhaps to a fault. No one has yet to consolidate the full Nicolas Cage experience into a single sitting. This is exactly what we plan to accomplish."

This is the second annual Cage match, according to the site. The event is a fundraiser for Amnesty International, a cause that Cage has contributed to in the past.

The students will live stream the event on their site and have posted a list of movies so Cage fans worldwide can join them. The screenings kick off with Vampire’s Kiss (1988) at 7 p.m. on April 1 and end with The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010), expected to be shown at 11:10 p.m. April 3.
