Northwestern U Approves $220 Million Complex

A plan for a new recreation and athletics complex, and a parking structure on the north end of campus were announced by the NU board of trustees this weekend, according to "Evanston Now."

 

On Saturday, the Northwestern University Board of Trustees announced approval of a new parking structure on the campus' north end and a major complex for athletics and recreational activities, according to Evanston Now

The article reports the complex will not only create areas for recreation, but also will include a multi-purpose practice facility and outdoor practice fields for intramurals, club and varsity sports.

The parking structure would include 1,200 spaces, and the initial project cost estimates are roughly $220 million. Evanston Now reports the the time frame of the project will depend on fundraising efforts.
