NU Gives $120,000 to District 65 Foundation

The gift will be dispersed over a three year period.

Northwestern University announced Tuesday that it will give $120,000 to Foundation 65, an educational foundation for Evanston/Skokie School District 65.

The gift will be dispersed over a three year period and will be used to"help continue to support infrastructure and operations," according to a media release. NU has "previously provided support to Foundation 65 for strategic planning and salary for their first full-time executive director."

The foundation supports District 65 schools by providing funds for innovative programming. In 2008, for example, it supported a pilot program called Advancing Literacy for All, which is designed to increase student's ability to read and understand science and social studies texts.
