Police: Evanston Employee Stole From New Trier Parents

New Trier Transportation Coordinator Timothy Barfield, an Evanston resident, is being charged with felony theft over $500, according to the Northfield Police Department.

New Trier transportation coordinator and Evanston resident Timothy B. Barfield is being charged with theft after he allegedly used his job to steal over $2,600 from the school district and parents, according to an article by The Pioneer Press. The article states that Barfield took payments — which included cash and checks made out directly for him — for bus transportation services. The arrest was made after school officials met with police to discuss money that was never paid to the school. He's officially being charged by the Northfield Police with felony theft over $500.

The article states that six parents have claimed to have paid Barfield for bus services, with the school never being made aware of the transaction. Barfield also allegedly chartered NTHS buses out for wedding parties and billed the district out for expenses. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 17.
