Tamer Sexuality Class Debuts at Northwestern After Last Year's Controversy

There will be no live sex toy demonstrations this time.

Northwestern University students have the option of taking a new sexuality class a year after the school canceled another sexuality class after a live sex toy demonstration, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The new class, titled "Sexual Subjects: Introduction to Sexuality Studies," is intended to be a broader look at sexuality than the canceled class, which was more focused on sexual practices, Professor Lane Fenrich told the Tribune.

The instructor of the canceled class, Professor J. Michael Bailey, defended his decision to have a couple demonstrate a sex toy at the front of class, saying that attendance was optional for students who were not given credit for attending.
