Asinamali Closing After 21 Years in Evanston

The boutique fashion store at 1722 Sherman Ave. is selling clothing at deep discounts through the month of January.

Asinamali, the downtown fashion boutique, is closing after 21 years in Evanston, according to a sign on the door. 

"We have had a great run, but it's time to move on," the sign reads. "Thank you so much for all of your support over the years.

Through the month of January, the boutique at 1722 Sherman Ave. is selling all clothing and other items at deep discounts. In February, the owners will begin selling the fixtures, according to the sign.

Asinamali made a major contribution to the vibrancy of Downtown Evanston! Will be missed and thanks to the owners.

Love this store and so sad to see it go! Always had unique stuff and such a nice counterpoint to all the chain stores in the area. I hope it reopens somewhere close (and that the space doesn't get taken over by a Subway or some other stupid franchise).
