If you're a fan of Frio Gelato, the Argentinian-style gelato that's made in Evanston and sold at local restaurants, you're in for a treat. The company is opening its first retail shop next week.
The retail store will hold a grand opening May 16 and 17 at its shop at 1701 Simpson, according to Frio's Facebook page.
Owner Sebastian Koziura told the city’s Site Plan and Appearance Review Committee that the business wanted to expand because customers of their wholesale business had been asking where they could buy Frio Gelato.
According to the Evanston Review, the retail store will be open daily from April to October, from 3 to 8:30 p.m.
