Tom Thumb Moving, Taco Diablo Hopes to Move into Space

The Davis Street store would be replaced with two restaurants, the other of which has not been named, according to Evanston Now.

After 49 years at 1026. Davis St., Tom Thumb Hobbies & Crafts is closing shop and moving to Niles, according to an article in Evanston Now. And paperwork has been submitted to the city to turn that space into two restaurants, one of which would be Taco Diablo, which was destroyed in a fire across the street last year.

Taco Diablo owner Daniel Kelch has submitted a zoning analysis request to tear down Tom Thumb’s building and put up a new, two-story, 2,500-square-foot building, the article says. Tom Thumb plans to be out of the space by the end of July.
