Celebrate with Fit Girl Studio at Ribbon Cutting in Downtown Evanston

Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Opening of Fit Girl Studio in Downtown Evanston

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, the Downtown Evanston Board of Directors, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and staff invite you to join in celebrating the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 3 at 4:00 p.m. for downtown Evanston’s newest fitness business, Fit Girl Studio. Fellow business owners and the general public are welcome to attend the celebration at 1642 Maple Avenue. Guests of the event will be able to tour the studio, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and learn more about the unique blend of Fit Girl Studio fitness techniques.

Launched in September 2011 by fitness expert Michelle Pretekin, Fit Girl Studio offers a variety of group classes and hands-on training through three specialized techniques that include barre, yoga and spin. With each class consisting of no more than 15 participants, clients receive personal attention combined with the high-level energy and encouraging camaraderie of group exercise.

“I view health and wellness as more than a weekly workout routine, but rather, an invigorating way of life,” says Pretekin.  “I’ve always dreamed of owning a fitness studio, and here we have combined bits and pieces of the very best fitness techniques and morphed them into one proven concept.  Evanston was the perfect choice for Fit Girl Studio.  Its healthy supportive citizens, thriving economy, and undeniable beauty offer Fit Girl Studio the best atmosphere in the North Shore.”

With a minimalist yet sophisticated feel, the roughly 2,000 square foot space boasts an inviting and comfortable approach to exercise, with soft and feminine touches.  Drop-in classes are $20 and discounts are available when classes are purchased as packages, as well as unlimited access through a monthly membership. The studio also offers a complimentary week of classes to give new participants a chance to sample each of the three different types of classes. Classes are offered throughout the day, including early morning and post-work or class time slots.
