Evanston Polar Plunge

2012 Plunge Site:  Northwestern University’s North Beach – Evanston Plunge Date: February 25, 2012 Plunge Time: 1 p.m.  Registration Begins: 11 a.m. Post-Plunge Party: Immediately after Plunge at Prairie Moon, Evanston. Lunch: Costs $15. From the north on I-94 (Edens Expressway): Exit at U.S. 41 (south) and continue south to Lake Avenue and travel about three miles to Sheridan Road. Turn right (south) on Sheridan Road and follow the green-and-white “Sheridan Road” signs when Sheridan bends. Once you are on campus, go north on Sheridan to Lincoln and make a right. Lincoln bends on the right when it meets Lake Michigan. The beach is just north of the Sports Pavilion. From the south in I-94 (Edens Expressway): Exit at Dempster east. Travel about five miles on Dempster Street to Chicago Avenue. Turn left (north) on Chicago Avenue, which merges into Sheridan Road about three-quarters of a mile north. Once you are on campus, go north on Sheridan to Lincoln and make a right. Lincoln bends when it meets Lake Michigan. The beach is just north of the Sports Pavilion.
