Healthy Kids Day

On Saturday, April 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the McGaw YMCA invites the Evanston community to celebrate Healthy Kids DayTM – the nation’s largest health day for families. Free and open to the community, the event will take place at the McGaw YMCA’s Sebring-Lewis Center Gymnasium at 1000 Grove Street in Evanston.

Healthy Kids DayTM aims to get families more active by teaching children healthy habits and inspiring a love of physical activity. This year’s activities will feature an Inflatable Slam Dunk Challenge, an Adrenaline Maze Challenge, Family Zumba®, Family Kickboxing, and more. There will also be crafts and healthy snacks for everyone to enjoy.

“Exercise and wellness do not have to be associated with excruciating workouts and boot camp-style classes,” says Health and Wellness manager, Mira Kaiser. “Show your children that being active can be fun…  There are so many ways to be healthy, so come and see what interests your family.”
