Evanston senior Kyla Steman finished Saturday's state finals cross-country race at Detweiller Park wearing only one shoe.

That didn't stop her from claiming a 91st place finish overall at the Class 3A Illinois High School Association girls finals, capping a season in which she cut almost two full  minutes off her times from the beginning of the season.
