2013 Summer Camp Guide for Chicago's North Shore

Interested in enrolling your child in summer camp on the North Shore? Here's information about camps in Deerfield, Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Wilmette and Winnetka.

With the choice and variety of summer camps available on Chicago's North Shore in 2013, boredom for your kids won't be an option.

Organizations, from the YMCA to your local parks and recreation department, offer dozens of camp choices for science, reading, sports, music and more. Whether you're looking for an all-around experience or a more focused camp, this list features a few in your town and nearby.

Deerfield

Name: Deerfield Park District Camps
Type of camp: Multiple Activities
Cost: $165 to $1,492 depending on camp and length of registration
Where:  Park locations througout Deerfield
When: Varies from June 10 through August 2
Deadline for registration:  Anytime until full.

Evanston

Name: Evanston Parks & Recreation Department
Cost: Varies by camp
Where: Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, Robert Crown Center, Chandler-Newberger Center, Evanston Ecology Center, city parks, etc. 
When: June, July and August
Deadline for registration: Open registration began Feb. 26 and closes when camps are full.

Glencoe

Name: Glencoe Parks Department
Type of camp: Day Camp
Cost: Costs vary per camp
Where: Various parks and schools across Glencoe 
Deadline for registration: Registration is now open, and balances must be paid in full by April 1.

Glenview

Name: Glenview Park District 
Type of camp: Day camps
Cost: Varies by program
Where: Parks and schools throughout Glenview
When: Most camps last from Jun. 10 to early Aug.
Deadline for registration: April 1 with deposit, after April 1 registrants must pay full camp cost

Highland Park

When: Many programs begin June 17.

Kenilworth

Name: Kenilworth Parks Department
Type of camp: Day Camps
Where: Various parks and schools across Kenilworth
When: Camp spans from June 17 to July 26.
Deadline for registration: Registration ends on May 10, and late applicants must pay an additional $150 per family.

Lake Forest

Wilmette

Name: Wilmette Parks Department
Type of camp: Day Camps
Cost: Costs vary per program, and a $150 deposit per camp is required. 
Deadline for registration: No registration deadline is listed, although registration for residents began on Jan. 29 and residents for non-residents opened on Feb. 5. Payments in full are due April 19.
Details: A variety of camp types are available, ranging from adventure camps to performing arts. 

Winnetka
