Arts Festival Takes Over Evanston Lakefront This Weekend

The Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival is scheduled for Aug. 4-5.

More than 100 artists will set up their work in this weekend as part of the 39th annual Lakeshore Arts Festival in Evanston.

With mediums from ceramics to glass to fiber on display, the Lakeshore Arts Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, and Sunday, Aug. 5. Festival-goers can also enjoy live music, an art auction, a craft tent for kids and offerings from local restauranteurs.  

Musical performers include singer Rebecca Rego and Evanston Township High School jazz trio Handsome Salamander. A full lineup can be found on the event website.

There is no charge for admission to the festival. Free parking is available in the lot, three blocks north of Dawes Park. Shuttle buses will run between the parking lot and the park between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
