Missing Pitbull Found In Stairwell

Update, posted Wednesday morning:

The owners of a missing pitbull found her trapped at the top of a basement staircase that had recently been demolished by contractors.

"She did not make a sound, until yesterday," owner Janet Lloyd told Patch.  "I live on the top floor of 2 flat and downstairs there are two greyhounds.  I was talking to the dog walker in the 1st floor kitchen and heard some whimpering.  She was trapped at the top of the stairs, and could not get back down."

Original Story, posted Tuesday:

A dog owner is offering a large cash reward for Nina, a pitbull that went missing from Evanston Monday afternoon.

The white dog with black coloring over its left eye disappeared from a yard in 1100 block of Pitner Avenue between 2:48 and 3:28 p.m. Monday, according to police.

"A rescued young pit bull female is stolen/lost from a yard at Dempster and Pitner afternoon of 06/03/13," a reader posted on the Evanston Patch Facebook page. "Short white coat with one black eye, spayed. Sweet timid dog, answers to Nina. PLEASE HELP. The owner is devastated, as the dog may be in danger. Time is of the essence."
Large cash reward – no questions asked, just bring Nina home.
