Evanston Patch Pet: Marco

Each week, we feature cats and dogs available for adoption from C.A.R.E. Evanston Animal Shelter.

C.A.R.E. cat Marco is an orange tabby with a Past. He's a so-called "tough guy" who was out on the streets--but in fact, Marco wasn't doing so great on his own and arrived at C.A.R.E. with some scratches and scars. These days Marco is happy to be in a place where he get good meals and proper cuddles--but his real goal is to find a proper home with windows from which he can safely watch birds and neighborhood goings-on.

This young orange-and-white fellow loves to play with all kinds of macho toys, like birds (feather wands), furry mice, and any kind of ball.

Marco likes people, but, in order to keep up his tough guy exterior, he prefers chill with new folks until he gets to know them. Oh, and he had a tail injury previously, so he prefers that people be respectful of his posterior, thank you.

  • ASPCA Feline-ality™ Assessment rating:  Purple / Private Investigator
  • Marco is microchipped and has had a full vet checkup and all his vaccines.
  • Marco would prefer a home where his human siblings would be about 12 or older.
  • We're not sure of Marco's opinions on other cats or dogs.
