Share Your Thoughts On City Spending at a Cafe

The city of Evanston is adding a new way for residents to share their thoughts on the budget in a series of open meetings at local cafes.

The budget input process for the city kicked off this Saturday at Brothers K, the first stop in a series of open meetings at local cafes.

Residents are invited to several meetings throughout September, to share their thoughts on the proposed 2014 city of Evanston budget. 

Here is the schedule for the rest of September:

  • 9/16 - 10 a.m. to noon at Linz and Vail, 2012 Central. St.
  • 9/17 - 1 to 3 p.m. at Unicorn Cafe, 1723 Sherman Ave.,
  • 9/18 - 3 to 5 p.m. at Boocoo, 1823 Church St.
  • 9/18 - 1 to 3 p.m. at Coffee Lab, 922 Noyes St.
  • 9/19 - 4 to 6 p.m. at Perla Café, 1813 Dempster St.
  • 9/20 - 8 to 10 a.m. at McDonalds, 1117 Howard St. 
The city is also holding an input session on the budget at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center, 1028 Central St. And on Thursday, Sept. 19, from noon to 1 p.m., residents can join a "virtual town hall" on the city's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CityofEvanston.
