During the "Glam-Her-Up" sales event, Ayla's Originals will donate 100 percent of its profits to the YWCA Evanston/North Shore's domestic violence services. The bead store will also accept jewelry donations to give to women in the YWCA's economic empowerment program. Watch 'The Snow Queen, or When Christmas Freezes Over'
Previews Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Piccolo Theatre, 600 Main St.
Piccolo presents a new take on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairytale, The Snow Queen, including new music, dancing and characters that will make you laugh. Preview tickets are $15; call 847-424-0089 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

See 'Compulsion' at Next Theatre

Next Theatre's fall production is based on the true story of Meyer Levin, who was obsessed with Anne Frank's diary and went to great lengths to honor her legacy. Tickets start at $25.

The Evanston Symphony Orchestra opens its 68th season with a concert to honor the city's 150th anniversary, including the world premier of "Evanston Fanfare," composed for the orchestra's brass section. Music Institute of Chicago students Kyle and Ryan Jannak-Huang will play duo-piano solos, and Northwestern University Bienen School of Music Dean Marie Montgomery will narrate Saint-Saëns’ 'Carnival 
of the Animals.' Tickets available online or by calling 847-864-8804.
