Dance Downtown For Free This Weekend

Chicago's WinterDance offers free lessons and dancing all weekend. Also in this week's '3 Things To Do Downtown,' hit a farmers market and catch the ZooLights before they go.

You may have enjoyed a warm summer evening in Grant Park with Chicago’s free SummerDance series. But did you know there’s a WinterDance program, too? It runs this weekend at the Cultural Center. There’s an hour of instruction each day before open dance time. Friday from 6-9 p.m. is Chicago steppin’; Saturday 6-9 p.m. is salsa and Sunday noon-3 p.m. is Argentine tango and milonga. And it’s free!

It’s the last weekend to catch the “ZooLights” at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Two million bulbs, some in the form of giant, illuminated animals, are on display from 5-9 p.m. each night through Sunday. There’s also a skating rink. Skating costs $5, with an additional $5 if you rent skates.
